Northwest Louisiana’s top senior football recruit will finally announced his college decision Friday afternoon.
North Webster Devin White runs for a first down against Evangel in the first quarter of a game on October 17, 2014.
Alabama, Arkansas, Florida State, LSU and Ole Miss are the finalists for North Webster running back, who plans to make his choice at 2 p.m. Friday in Springhill. More than 40 schools extended an offer to ESPN’s No. 3 athlete and the No. 7 senior in Lousiana, according to the 247sports composite ranking of all the major recruiting services.

An arrest in November on misdemeanor sex charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile cost the 6-foot-1, 260-pound four-star recruit a chance to play in last Saturday’s Under Armour All-America Game, where White originally planned to announce his college decision. He got arrested again in late December on misdemeanor charges of “careless operation of a motor vehicle and flight from an officer.”
Neither charge appears to have had any effect on his scholarship offers and most experts project White will stay in-state at LSU, which already has ESPN’s No. 1 recruiting class for 2016. White plans to enroll early and participate in spring practices.
