Led by Trev Anderson and Sam Hauser, Stevens Point (Wis.), won the state Division I title and moved to No. 10 in the Super 25 boys basketball rankings.
Anderson and Hauser each had 33 points in an 89-64 defeat of Muskego in the Division I state championship and the two each had 32 points in a 75-48 defeat of Sheboygan North (Sheboygan) in the Division I state semifinal.
No. 1 Chino Hills (Calif.), is just one win from a perfect season. With two weeks this past week, Chino Hills (34-0) advanced to a matchup this Saturday with De La Salle (Concord) for the state Open Division championship.
LiAngelo Ball had 27 points in an 84-62 defeat of Bishop Montgomery (Torrance) in a CIF Open Division Regional Final. Onyeka Okongwu had 19 points and 11 rebounds in an 82-62 defeat of Foothills Christian (El Cajon) in the second round of CIF Open Division playoffs.
There are two new teams in the Super 25: No. 21 Memphis East and No. 25 Roman Catholic (Philadelphia).
Memphis East won the state AAA title as Alex Lomax had 14 points in a 64-60 defeat of Cordova in the state championship. Terrance Moss had 13 points in a 46-41 defeat of then-No. 22 Memphis East (Memphis) in the AAA state semifinal.
Roman rejoined the rankings after the Cahillites won their second consecutive state AAA title, defeating Allderdice (Pittsburgh) 73-62 in the AAA state championship as Lamar Stevens had 27 points.
