The Pilots have a new coach, their fourth in the past five seasons, but he’s a familiar face in Paul Washington Sr., the father of Pilots 6-7 senior F P.J. Washington (16.8 ppg, 9.8 rpg) and junior W Spencer Washington.
Besides the Washington’s, key returnees include 6-7 senior SF Donnie Tillman (14.4 ppg, 9.1 rpg) and senior Lamine Diane (8.5 ppg, 3.2 rpg).
The Pilots may have lost transfer Gary Trent Jr., to Prolific Prep (Napa, Calif.), but they added two solid Texas transfers in senior 6-3 G Chris Giles (10.3 ppg, 2.2 apg) from Plano West (Plano) and senior 6-7 W Reggie Chaney (13.5 ppg, 6.3 rpg) from Liberty (Frisco). Another key transfer is junior 5-11 PG Justin Roberts (13.1 ppg, 3.5 apg, 3.4 rpg), a DePaul commit from Pike (Indianapolis).
