Give this much to Carlin Fils-Aime: He’s certainly creative.
The Tennessee commit, who spent his high school career starring at Naples High in Florida, has lived with teammate Tyler Byrd for five years. The two four-star recruits are best friends, with Fils-Aime expected to push for playing time at running back in Knoxville right away, just as Tyler Byrd will contribute as a wide receiver in Coral Gables from the get-go. That’s assuming neither player bolts from their respective committed schools.
Fils-Aime isn’t giving up without a fight. His latest attempt to lure Byrd with him when he heads North came in the form of a creative Sadie Hawkins dance invitation, that included both a clever play on the name Tennessee, orange and the state outline of the Volunteer state. If Fils-Aime made the sign himself, he has some serious arts and crafts skills.
We won’t know whether or not it works until National Signing Day, but given his determination, it may not be Carlin-Fils’ last attempt to sway his house and teammate. Let’s all just hope the next few attempts are equally creative and colorful.
