Tennis Season Approaching

tennis-stock-photo-2As the tennis season gets closer and closer; it’s time for the CV tennis boys to begin practicing now so they can be ready for the tough season ahead of them. Practices begins in only a few weeks. The practices are mainly for the players to hit the ball around and improve on their skills or develop new ones. During these practices we also will play many fun games which really help improve our skills with the added benefit of having fun and getting to know all of the other guys on the team.

So far these practices have seen a lot of new faces; including Junior Evan Kraus who says that he is “Pumped up and ready to play for the upcoming season”.  Another new face on the team is Junior Joaquin Keys who says that ” Tennis is a lot of fun to play with my friends in and out of school”.

Many challenge matches will happen during these practices and during the season. Challenge matches can determine if you start in the match, or if you end up playing exhibition matches.

Team coach Ms. Daeschner says that our ultimate goal for this season is to beat rivals Mt. Lebanon and Peters Township.  Another common goal for the season to get a playoff spot and win the WPIAL. With many senior players gone; there are a lot of varsity spots to fill this year.

Many players worked on their skills in the off season to enhance their skills.

Though with a lot more practices ahead; CV seems that they may shock many teams this year.
