SoCal softball star Sammy Fabian's epic hitting streak is finally over at 61 games

It was a good thing while it lasted, but even one of the most epic career-starting hitting streaks in prep history has to come to an end sometime.

And so it was that budding superstar Sammy Fabian was finally held hitless in a softball game. The Glendale softball star successfully recorded a hit in a jaw-dropping 61 consecutive contests before being shut out by Crescenta Valley in an 8-5 loss.

Fabian’s 61 game streak is longer than MLB record holder Joe DiMaggio’s by a full five games. Now Fabian has another two years to try and extend her own mark, even if that requires starting all over again.
