Rawle Alkins, a five-star combo guard, built a legendary resume last summer; dominating the adidas circuit (24.3 points per game), leading the NY RENS to the adidas title, helping the U.S. Select team go undefeated at the adidas EuroCamp in Treviso, Italy and winning MVP at both the prestigious adidas Nations showcase and the Pangos All-America Camp. Alkins, an Arizona signee, has agreed to give USA TODAY HSS exclusive access into his world by chronicling everything from intimate details about his recruitment to his everyday life in a blog.
What’s up guys, it’s Rawle Alkins back with another USA Today blog!
I know it’s been a while, but I’ve just been staying low-key and working out!
I’m officially a high school graduate. It was really emotional for me because my whole family came from New York to see me walk across that stage!
I’ll miss the people in NC; I made a lot of memories here.
Looking back on my senior year I’d have to say the highlights were the BallIsLife All-American Game and the Capital Classic. Two great events full of great players and I played well.
I cannot wait until college basketball season starts! We’ll have a great team and I’m working to be a big part of the success next season.
I’m in the best shape of my life right now. I’m 215 pounds and I can literally play at a high level the whole game. I’m jumping out of the gym and I’m working on every part of my game. I’m determined to be at a whole new level.
I really feel like we’ve got the talent to make a lot of noise in college basketball next season and I know all of the guys are dedicated to getting better and doing whatever it takes to have the best season that we can have.
It’s been great being back in NYC; I’ve been hanging out with my friends and catching up with everybody; plus, of course, grinding in the gym.
OK people, thank you for checking out my blog. It’s been an amazing journey and I appreciate you checking out my blog and supporting me this whole time.
I’ll be back with another blog before I head off toe Arizona so stay tuned!
