A busy week of high school sports postseason events began Monday with two makeup events and four opening-round district baseball games spread around the area.
Melbourne Central Catholic and Viera started a boys lacrosse playoff game on Friday, but lightning had other ideas. The Hustlers led, 6-0, when play was interrupted in the first period. It will be resumed today at Viera at 5:30 p.m.
Ninety minutes later, the Viera softball team will host Harmony at Viera Regional Park in the District 6-7A tournament championship. Both teams will begin FHSAA regional play on Wednesday, but today’s winner will play its game at home.
