FISHERSVILLE – Wilson Memorial improved to 4-3 on the season with an 8-5 win over Stonewall Jackson in nonconference baseball action on Friday.
The Green Hornets gave themselves some breathing room in the fifth inning with a three-run rally. Ben Corbin knocked in the first run with a sac fly, Preston Elkins singled home the second run and Bryce Norman closed out the scoring with a run-scoring single, his second hit and second RBI of the game.
Elkins went the first six innings to get the win. He allowed seven hits while striking out three and walking two. Luke Jordan pitched the seventh for Wilson, which is at Waynesboro on Monday for a makeup game.
