Boys basketball

Canton 71, Livonia Stevenson 62: In the opening round of the KLAA conference tournament, Logan Ryan put up 21 points for Canton (17-0) while B.Artis White added 16 points. David Dunn scored 19 points for Stevenson (9-8) while Ian Knoph contributed 16 points.

Dearborn Heights Annapolis 65, Allen Park Cabrini 43: Jon McMath scored 20 points for Annapolis (7-9), while Alex Ismail had 18 points and 19 rebounds. Cabrini fell to 1-14.

Detroit Cornerstone 82, Detroit Edison Public School Academy 77 (OT): Jamal Cain led all with 38 points, 20 rebounds, five blocks and five assists for Cornerstone (9-7). James Burton III added 19 points and Davion Bradford also chipped in 13 points. DEPSA’s David DeJulius scored 24 points.

Eastpointe East Detroit 55, Harrison Twp. L’Anse Creuse 45: Lee Kennedy led L’Anse Creuse with 11 points.

Harper Woods 71, Madison Heights Bishop Foley 62: Jalen Brown scored 17 points for Harper Woods (12-2). Dylan Tucker added 16 points, and AJ Wilson also chipped in 11 points. Bishop Foley’s Rafael Michael scored 21 points. Bishop Foley falls to 9-5.

Livonia Churchill 51, South Lyon 50: Jeron Hampton scored 12 points for Churchill (7-11), including the game-winner with 7 seconds left in regulation. Joan Andoni led with 22 points for Churchill. Josh Remstead scored 19 points for Lyon (7-10).

Northville 53, Plymouth 25: Justin Gibbons scored 17 points for Northville (17-0). Justin Zimbo and Kevin Morrissey each also added 10 points. Plymouth falls to 7-10.

Plymouth Salem 65, Westland Glenn 60: Cameron Grace scored 24 points and eight rebounds for Salem (11-6), Calin Crawford added 14 points. Chris Agnew had  33 points for Glenn (8-9).

St. Clair Shore Lake Shore 71, Marine City 17: Ricky Dixon scored 17 points, Cortez Jackson and Jalen Dixon each added 10 points for Lake Shore (15-3, 12-1 MAC Silver).

St. Clair Shores South Lake 72, Center Line 44: Nate Jordan scored 14 points and Darrell Heard added 13 points for South Lake (14-4, 10-2 MAC Silver). Chris Still scored 17 points for Center Line.

Sterling Heights 73, Warren Lincoln 68 (OT): Shawn Kama scored 24 points and Percy Daniels also added 20 points and 15 rebounds for Sterling Heights (5-14). Lance Moore scored 16 points for Lincoln (7-11).

Utica 54, Port Huron Northern 42: Caden Ebeling led with 20 points for Utica (9-7), Jack Cramer contributed 12 points. Kody Badzer scored 15 points for Northern (9-6).

Utica Eisenhower 90, Warren Cousino 57: Matt Donahue scored 20 points and Ben Campbell added 16 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for Eisenhower (7-9). Cousino’s AJ Crawford scored 18 points.

Utica Ford 73, New Haven 71: Alex Iafrate scored 21 points for Utica (9-8). Donnie Schuster added 13 points, and Alek Ivanovic also chipped in 13 points. New Haven’s Eric Williams Jr. scored a monster 32 points. Romeo Weems also added 22 points. New Haven falls to 14-2.

Warren Mott 65, Clinton Twp. Chippewa Valley 62: Delano Cage scored 14 points for Mott (7-10, 4-7 MAC Red)  while Julian Dixon added 12 points.

Wayne Memorial 68, Pinkney 62: Traevon Woods led with 22 points and 10 rebounds for Memorial, while Terrance Williams added 15 points.

Girls basketball

Auburn Hills Oakland Christian 43, Newport Lutheran South 10: Lexi Powers led Oakland Christian (10-8, 7-5 MIAC) with 14 points.

Bellevue 68, Colon 35: Bailey Whitcomb led all scorers with a career-high 31 points, as well as recording five assists and five steals for Bellevue. Casie Shannon also chipped in 12 points and five assists.

Berkley 57, Ferndale 20: Makoya Denham scored 16 points for Berkley (11-7). Ferndale’s Kayla Boyd scored 17 points. Berkley moves to 11-7.

Birmingham Groves 52, Hazel Park 25: Morgan Morrison scored 11 points for Groves (13-5, 8-1 OAA Gold).

Birmingham Seaholm 45, Auburn Hills Avondale 17: Mackenzie Harbort’s 16 points and five steals for Seaholm (15-3, 6-2). Caroline Owens also added 14 points.

Detroit Edison 60, Detroit East English 40: Rickea Jackson had a huge game with 24 points for Edison (10-7), while Melissa Langford added 12 points.

Detroit Osborn 31, Detroit CMA 22: Osborn (5-9) was led by Mariah Mericer’s 10 points.

Kingston 45, North Huron 26: Sarah Savage scored 22 points for Kingston (15-3, 11-0 NCTL). Maddie Cofer also added 10 points. North Huron’s Paige Woodke scored 15 points. Kingston seals its fourth straight NCTL title with the win.

North Farmington 40, Lake Orion 36: Kierra Crockett scored 12 points for Farmington (12-5, 6-2 OAA White), while Alexis Stevens added nine points. Maddie Novak had a monster game with 24 points for Lake Orion (11-7, 5-4).

Onaway 57, Johannesburg Lewiston 60: Madison Showerman scored 30 points for Lewiston (18-1). Jade Galer put up 26 points for Onaway (8-9) in the loss.

Rochester Adams 57, Oxford 37: Maggie Rogers led all scorers with 23 points for Adams. Abby Butkiewicz led Oxford with 15 points.

Hockey

Walled Lake Central 4, White Lake Lakeland 3 (OT): Cam Stevenson scored three goals and Ian Smith scored the winner in overtime for Central. Matt Enoch, Ricky Rayner and Blake Kocsis each scored for Lakeland.

Flat Rock 51, Grosse Ile 50 (OT): Highers, Wilson seal Huron
