The IndyStar Mr. Football candidate put on a show in West Lafayette’s 55-27 win over Tri-West. He threw for 524 yards, a school-record seven touchdowns and rushed for one more.

The Indiana commit rushed for a pair of touchdowns in crunch time for the Orioles, who overcame a 14-0 deficit and won 35-21. His 14-yard touchdown scamper gave Avon a 28-24 lead with 4:45 to play. After Plainfield retook the lead, Fitzgerald gave Avon the lead for good with a 1-yard run with 55 seconds to play.

The transfer from Ohio made a statement in his first game as a Trojan, giving Center Grove a 14-7 lead in the first quarter against Warren Central with an 86-yard touchdown run. He finished with 172 yards on 13 carries, but it wasn’t enough to fend off a Warren Central comeback. Yeast has offers from Alabama, Auburn and Ole Miss, among others.
