Another top quarterback in the Class of 2017 is off the board.
Jack Sears from San Clemente, Calif., has committed to Duke, as announced on his high school team’s Twitter feed.
Sears is ranked as the No. 5 pro style passer in the class by the 247Sports Composite rankings and had 26 reported offers, including much of the Pac-12.
“He’s a very smart quarterback, always poised and a natural leader,” Scout.com national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins said. “He throws with very good touch and accuracy and he’s only scratching the surface of how good he can be. There is a ton of upside with Sears and we think he’s going to be a tremendous player at the next level.”
With Sears’ commitment, all but one of the top 34-ranked pro style passers has committed. Judd Erickson from Mountain Vista in Colorado is the lone holdout.
