Pope John Paul II ended a three-game losing streak to Father Ryan for the Bishop’s Cup and also won its first region game since 2012. Jamaal Thompson scored two touchdowns for the Knights (3-1, 1-0 DII-AA East/Middle). With six seconds left, Father Ryan (2-2, 0-2) faked a 36-yard field goal and attempted a pass that was incomplete.
Hillsboro 21, Riverdale 19
Tywan Goodner passed for 174 yards and two touchdowns, including a 55-yard strike to Tre Dickerson, to lead Hillsboro (2-2). The Burros defense held Riverdale (1-3) on its last drive after a Warriors touchdown was called back due to a penalty in the final two minutes.
Beech 24, Hendersonville 23
A 21-yard touchdown run by Chris Peach gave Beech (3-1, 2-0 6-5A) a come-from-behind victory over their crosstown rival for the first time in four years. Hendersonville (2-2, 0-2) led 23-10 with 9:59 to play after Jordan Amis recovered a fumble in the end zone.
Fairview 27, Waverly 26
Jake Beathard’s 11-yard touchdown run with 1:33 remaining gave Fairview (4-0) its seventh consecutive victory over Waverly (3-1). Beathard rushed for 107 yards and three touchdowns. Montez Bradley rushed for 181 yards and scored three touchdowns for Waverly.
Cheatham County 30, Creek Wood 28
Quarterback Landon Barnes had 164 rushing yards, including a 70-yard run for a score, to lead Cheatham County (3-1). Quinton Poole extended his streak of 100-plus rushing yards in a game to four with 125 yards and three touchdowns for Creek Wood (1-3).
Centennial 21, Ravenwood 14
Zyon Lee rushed 29 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns and Centennial (3-1) defeated Ravenwood (2-2) for the second consecutive season. Tre Stewart completed 7 of 15 passes for 107 yards. McCain Marrow completed 21 of 39 passes for 156 yards to pace Ravenwood.
Franklin 41, Brentwood 7
After fumbling on its first three possessions, Franklin (3-1) reeled off 41 unanswered points against rival Brentwood (1-3). Alex Gaca hauled in a pair of long touchdown receptions, and the Rebels also rushed for 301 yards and three scores.
Pearl-Cohn 41, CPA 0
Xavier Shepherd completed 14 of 16 passes for 193 yards and three touchdowns to give Pearl-Cohn (3-1) its first win over CPA (1-3) since 2010. Ke’Juan Vaughn added 116 rushing yards on 18 carries. CPA was held to 159 yards.
Overton 34, Lipscomb Academy 7
Tennessee commitment Theo Jackson ran back a blocked field goal attempt 62 yards for a touchdown and returned an interception 52 yards for another score to lead Overton (2-2). William Phillips led Lipscomb Academy (1-1) with 133 rushing yards.
