The Beacon High School boys and Arlington girls won team titles at the Northern County track and field championships on Saturday at Arlington.
Beacon finished with 184 team points, beating out Arlington by 24 points. The Arlington girls scored 176 points, nipping John Jay’s 148.
Beacon’s David Adams won the boys 110-meter hurdles in a time of 14.76 seconds and the 400 hurdles in 57.87. Dominic Reid took the shot put (45 feet, 5 inches) while Rayvon Grey won the long jump (23-6 ¼), Terrel Davis won the triple jump (46-0 ¼) and Michael Andrews won the discus (138-4).
Fellow Bulldog Paige Baisley won the girls high jump (4-11).
Elisabeth Vanroijen of Arlington won the girls hammer throw with a mark of (111-3). She also won the discus (90-7). Teammate Maya Reina won the pole vault (9-9) while Meghan LaTuso won the 3,000 (10:35.81).
Fellow Admiral Joe Morrison won the boys 1,600 (4:20.87) while Devere Knight took the 400 (50.40). Reece Ragusa won the 800 (1:58.78), Parish Durham won the high jump (6-4). Timothy Criss won the hammer throw (130-10).
Roy C. Ketcham’s Danny Naopra won the boys 3,200 (9:50.09). Teammate Jacob baker won the pole vault (11-6). On the girls side, Oreoluwa Odeniyi won the 100 (12.87).
Our Lady of Lourdes’ Jaheim Jones won the boys 100 (11.06) and 200 (22.66). Teammate Caroline Timm won the girls 1,500 (4:37.19) and the 800 (2:19.08).
Khiara Young of John Jay won the girls 200 (26.30) and 400 (58.87). Deanna Newman won the javelin (107-7), while Erin Theiller won the triple jump (32-5). Alyssa DeMichael won the 400 hurdles (1:09.52).
Abbey Stowell of Haldane won three events: the girls long jump (16-0.50), pentathlon (2,595 points) and shot put (31-3 ¾).
Fellow Blue Devil Theo Henderson won the boys 3,000 steeplechase (9:48.01).
The Beacon girls were third (52.50) as a team. Ketcham was fifth (41.50), Haldane was sixth (34), Lourdes was ninth (25.50) and Pawling was 10th (18).
Pawling placed fourth (55.50) as a team. Ketcham was fifth (50), Lourdes was sixth (32), Haldane seventh (28) and John Jay eighth (20.50).
