Chef of the Week
In sports the term “cookin” is reserved for a player who goes on a scoring spree or gets hot during a game and makes big plays on the offensive end.
This week’s “Chef of the Week” award winner is Mokan Elite (Mo.) point guard Trae Young for dropping, count ‘em, 40 points and handing out 11 assists in a win over EP Elite at the Nike EYBL last week.
Check out how Young has been getting it done below.
Poster of the Week
This week’s Poster of the Week winner is Team Penny (Tenn.) guard John Petty for the poster he created at the Nike EYBL Atlanta last week.
Petty was driving toward the basket and when a defender cut him off he took the ball behind his back and rose up to flush it down over a defender who should’ve just let the dunk happen.
Check out the poster below.
Oh No They Didn’t!
This award is reserved for the player who turned in a mind-boggling performance or play that left the crowd in a state of shock and amazement.
This week’s “Oh No They Didn’t” winner is Bothell (Bothell, Wash.) running back Alex Indelicato for shaking the confidence out of a would-be tackler at The Opening in Seattle, Wash.
Indelicato started out with the ball during one-on-one drills and jogged up the middle toward the defender. As he closed in, Indelicato took a hard step to the left then jerked back to the right with lightning quickness, which sent the defender in a steady jog the opposite way.
The collective “Ooh!” from the fellow campers said it all.
The defender buried his head into his hands and walked off the field.
