Advanced Prep International (Dallas) knew it would have its hands full facing Westtown (Chester, Penn.) big man Mohamed Bamba, who was coming off of a dominant performance at The Slam Dunk to the Beach this week.

Bamba was dominant early, but Bulldogs point guard Trevon Duval was dominant period.

Duval scored 25 points, grabbed four rebounds and dished out five assists to help API roll past Westtown 105-71 Saturday at the Cancer Research Classic.

Their 105 points set a new tournament scoring record.

Duval, the No. 1 point guard and No. 4 overall player in the ESPN 60 for 2017, shot 11 of 13 from the field in the win. He was named MVP of the game.

Bamba, who is ranked No. 8 overall in the ESPN 60, finished with 24 points and four blocks in the loss.

The Bulldogs jumped on Westtown early scoring 28 fastbreak transition to build a 15-point halftime lead.

They opened the second half with a 9-0 run and never took their foot off the pedal from that point on.

Terrance Ferguson, an Alabama commit, pumped in 21 points and Billy Preston added 15 points for API.
