Merritt Island Christian visted Triumph Christian in Auburndale on Friday night.

Merritt Island Christian played three good quarters of football.

Unfortunately, the second quarter counted too.

The Cougars trailed just 6-0 after one quarter, but allowed 27 points in the second quarter to trail 33-0 at halftime.

The team didn’t show any quit, allowing just 7 points in the second half to fall 40-0.

“I was proud of how these kids played in the second half,” head coach Jamie Bopp said. “They didn’t give up, they continued to play hard.”

Top performers: Triumph Christian: Romaris Glanton scored three touchdowns on runs of 44 yards (first quarter), 47 yards (second quarter) and 56 yards (fourth quarter).
