John Calipari and the Kentucky Wildcats latest to join the race for five-star sophomore, joining Duke and Kansas among others
New Albany sophomore Romeo Langford — one of the top underclassmen in the country — received his third offer from an elite program this week after getting an offer from the University of Kentucky Wednesday, Bulldogs coach Jim Shannon confirmed to The Courier-Journal on Wednesday.
Earlier in the week, the 6-foot-4 Langford received offers from Kansas and Duke, and already holds offers from Louisville, Purdue and others.
Langford, a first-team all-state selection, led the Bulldogs to a 27-1 record and the school’s first state championship since 1973. In the Class 4-A finals, they beat McCutcheon 63-59, and won their last 24 games of the season. Langford averaged 29.3 points and 9.3 rebounds for New Albany.
The 6-foot-4, 185-pound shoot guard is rated a five-star prospect and ranked by Scout as the No. 4 overall recruit of the Class of 2018, No. 10 by 247 Sports, No. 14 by Rivals and No. 21 by ESPN.
