Third baseman Cole Evans may be in third grade, but the Little Leaguer is already putting together the kind of highlights that can land a young man on Sports Center.
Evans was manning third base during a recent game for his Ozark Raptors squad when the whippersnapper leapt up to grab a liner. That’s out number 1. He then raced over to tap third base for the second out, swiveled and tagged out a baserunner from second to cap a one-man, one-two-three triple play.
The quick thinking triple-play from the boy manning the triple base was the highlight of the game, and the team’s season thus far. It’ll be a hard one to top for an 8-year-old … or any youth baseball player, for that matter.
