Ever seen an accidental bounce pass that somehow transformed into an alley-oop? Now you have.
The play you see above comes from Peoria Manual’s game against Curie to decide the Pontiac Holiday Tournament title. With Da’Monte Manual trapped and heading out of bounds, he flipped in a bounce pass over the head of his defender … then magically saw the resulting pass go straight to teammate Romon Douglas-Watkins, as he soared toward the hoop.
The bucket was perhaps Manual’s most impressive — and lucky — of the Pontiac title game, but it wasn’t enough to take home the crown; Curie walked out with the trophy following a 75-65 victory. Still, a bounce pass alley-oop! That has to be worth a trophy of some sort, doesn’t it?
If it isn’t, perhaps we’ve finally found a realistic reason to change the rules.
