Darius Jenkins’ public display of affection on the court at Tuesday night’s Conroe (Texas) girls’ volleyball game went a little smoother than Drake’s on national at the VMAs a couple nights earlier.
During pregame introductions before a match against Houston’s North Shore High, Jenkins came out of the stands with a sign asking his girlfriend, Conroe senior captain Tiarra Moore, to homecoming.
Unlike Rihanna at the VMAs, Moore immediately said, “Yes.”
“I was surprised,” she told the Houston Chronicle. “I might have cried a little. Of course I said ‘Yes.'”
After what her coach described as “a rocky start” for the team, Moore took over the match, recording a team-high 13 kills to capture Player of the Match honors in Conroe’s three-set sweep of North Shore.
