Holy cow, J.J. Hernandez. How did you make this catch?
The Sierra Canyon star somehow kept his focus to make one of the great circus catches in recent memory during the team’s 42-40 California Interscholastic Federation Division 2-A bowl game in Sacramento. That Hernandez came down with the grab is borderline inexplicable; as noted by the Los Angeles Times, the ball was touched at least six times by as many as six different players before the young Sierra Canyon star made the play.
Here’s another angle of the superb catch:
The catch may have been Hernandez’s best in his final game of the year, but it was hardly his only highlight. He brought back a kickoff for a touchdown, which would have been a clear highlight … until you see the catch.
The scariest part for teams set to face off against Sierra Canyon in the future? Hernandez is only a sophomore.
