In advance of Saturday’s huge game against Florida State, Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson said in an interview that he threw a ball 100 yards in high school — goal line to goal line.
The video quickly surfaced of a tweet that Jackson posted on April 2, 2015, after he already was at Louisville.
Jackson was a star at Boynton Beach in Florida, including one game in which he opposed current Florida State running back Dalvin Cook and Miami Central in 2013. The teams combined for 92 points and nearly 900 yards of offense with Central winning 55-37 en route to a Class 6A state championship.
“I remember putting in the tape and watching them play and saying, ‘Wow, this team is unbelievable,'” Miami Central coach Roland Smith told the Louisville Courier Journal. “Lamar Jackson was a one-man wrecking crew. He was the most feared guy at the high school level that we faced.”
