It’s hard to find a new gimmick to make a practice session reception truly stand out. This is a new gimmick.

During a preseason football workout at White Bear Lake, two members of the team combined for a reception that was both difficult and creative enough to make Giants wide out Odell Beckham Jr. jealous. The unnamed quarterback dropped back and timed a pass perfectly to connect with a similarly unnamed receiver traveling across the field inside a rolling tractor trailer tire.

Yup. There’s your first “pass completion inside a tire” of the 2016 season. Pretty remarkable, huh? We thought so, too.

That’s not to say that this is the best trick completion we’ll see this year. But it’s a good one, thanks to free time in Minnesota.
