The year of the full-field lacrosse goal continues, this time from the great Midwest.
In Champlin Park’s most recent lacrosse matchup against Irondale, goalie Adam Dumphy made a save and started upfield on a clear. With time ticking down to advance the ball into the offensive zone, Dumphy decided his best strategy was to launch a bomb in the direction of the offensive cage.
As it turns out, that was a good decision. Dumphy’s clearing pass cleared everything, including the opposing goal keeper, from 55 yards out.
The surprising goal sent the Champlin Park sideline into expected delirium, serving as the cherry on top of the Rebels’ 17-4 rout of Irondale.
