VIDEO: New Hampshire lax coach uses players to propose to girlfriend

A New Hampshire boys lacrosse coach called a very unique play on Tuesday. The one-of-a-kind set used his entire lineup and came after the game was over. Oh, and it required a special guest: His girlfriend.

If you haven’t figured out by now, the coach in question — Campbell’s Chris Beede — had his players arrange themselves to spell out a very special message to his girlfriend, who was led across the field to greet her allegedly disconsolate boyfriend. When she turned around she was greeted with the human message “Will You Marry Coach?” along with its call from the players themselves before swiveling to see Beede on his knee bearing a ring.

Jackie Marks said yes, setting off a happy response for the coach and a flurry of viral activity in the New England lacrosse community.

“In 11 years of coaching, this was by far the best play I’ve ever called,” Beede wrote on his Facebook page, as noted by New Hampshire news network WMUR. “Although I’ve played lacrosse and coached for 21 years, she is easily the best teammate I’ve ever had.”
