Neshaminy boys basketball coach Jerry Devine is probably going to spend some time away from the sidelines in the days ahead.

As captured on social media and shared via Philadelphia blog City of Basketball Love, Devine’s team was involved in a heated matchup with Pennbury High, and when a Neshaminy player drove the lane in the final 30 seconds he appeared to score a key basket before it was wiped out and ruled a charge.

The decision infuriated Devine, who raced on to the court and, before he could stop himself, chest bumped the official. His head followed through with the contact, though a second angle featured at Deadspin makes it appear that his head never made contact with the official.

The charge kept Pennbury’s lead at 5, which eventually resulted in a Neshaminy loss. The team won’t have to wait long before getting a chance to bounce back, with a game against Pennridge scheduled for Wednesday. Whether Devine is on the bench for the Philadelphia face off remains to be seen.
