Oklahoma Sooners basketball great Buddy Hield was honored during the Oklahoma March of Dimes Sports Headliner banquet Thursday night.
Hield, who got the Bahamas Select Team during its loss to the Nike EYBL Select Team last weekend in the Bahamas, was asked about Trae Young, a point guard from Norman (Okla.) North. The two have known each other for years.
Young, who played for the EYBL Select Team, is ranked as the No. 2 point guard in the Class of 2017 and No. 15 overall. Oklahoma is among the five finalists on Young’s list.
Among the things Hield told Nate Feken of KFOR about Young, “He’s a trash talker … a special player … a killer. … I would take a player like him on my team any day. He’s always down for war.”
