Harris Partain comes from a soccer family. His brother, Hayden Partain, is a star at Wake Forest, and his father was both a collegiate (UCLA and Centenary) and indoor soccer (Dallas Sidekicks) star. His mother was a soccer player at TCU as well. All of this is to point out that soccer is very much in Harris Partain’s blood, and he’s followed in his footsteps, both for Texas-based USSF Development Academy club Solar Chelsea and Frisco Wakeland High.

Now that he’s a senior at Wakeland himself, Harris Partain is taking on a leadership role, and he wasted little time putting a marker down for his team’s goal of the season by scoring the remarkable bicycle kick goal you see above.

That’s Partain tracking in a deflected defensive header, lining up a snipe and going for it, full throttle. His shot was spot perfect, and there was absolutely nothing that the goalkeeper for crosstown rival Frisco could do to stop the ball from hitting the net.

Now, Partain may never be able to recreate that goal again, at least not at this level. There simply isn’t enough time yet to have more quality chances at a similar shot. The good news is that he has four years ahead of him at Central Arkansas, where more offensive fireworks may very well follow. Given both Partain’s pedigree and talent, one could hardly be surprised if we see more audacious highlight clips like the one above from him again, and sooner rather than later.
