Tyger Campbell recently finished just short of a DICK’S Nationals tournament title with La Lumiere in a heartbreaking buzzer-beater loss to Oak Hill in Madison Square Garden. One of the men leading the line for Oak Hill that day was Matt Coleman, Campbell’s counterpart on the other sideline. Neither player wasted time resting on their new laurels or heartbreak before getting back into action.
Two weeks later, Campbell was back on the court on the Nike EYBL circuit, competing for We All Can Go. On his first weekend on the Spring circuit, Campbell found himself matched up against one of the other top prep point guards, Class of 2017 star Coleman. Suffice to say, the face off didn’t disappoint.
You can see the full highlights of the game between We All Can Go and Coleman’s Boo Williams squad above. The clash was won by Boo Williams, led by Coleman’s 24 points and 2 assists, yet he may have been outdone by the other score-first point guard, with Campbell dropping 31 points and 5 assists in the loss. Given that Campbell is two years Coleman’s junior, he’ll likely be the player who continues to get the lion’s share of hype.
No matter. Any program that lands either of these guards will certainly find itself in a better place, sooner rather than later.
