As dug up by our friends at For The Win, Northwest Catholic baseball player Tom Meucci in Connecticut took a solid fastball straight to the dome during a game against Windsor. He took the shot like a champ, trotted down to first place and could be easily consoled by the fact his team was in control of an eventual 12-1 victory.
Then again, as noted by FTW, that was only possible because of his helmet, proving once and for all that protective gear is the best, whether you think it’s stylish or necessary or not (and yes, it is necessary!).
