Calif. defensive end D.J. Johnson goes from zero to 50 offers in a year

By

Just 11 months ago, Luther Burbank (Sacramento, Calif.) High defensive end D.J. Johnson didn’t have a single D-1 scholarship offer.

Oh, how much can change in a year.

Johnson has now racked up 50 offers, from local and national powers alike. He recently was offered by reigning national champion Alabama.

“It was a great offer,” Johnson said. “That’s a program always at the top and when they feel like they need me on that team, it made me feel good about who you are and gave me more confidence.”

Johnson is currently ranked as the No. 21 defensive end in the country by Scout.
