John Smith, Cocoa High football
Smith recorded 11 tackles on Friday and blocked a punt in the Tigers’ 24-21 Class 4A state semifinal win over Miami Booker T. Washington. Smith also broke up a pass.
Amanda Beach, MCC cross country
Beach placed fifth on Saturday in the Foot Locker South Regional in Charlotte, North Carolina, earning a spot in the national race. Her time of 17:31.1 was her season best.
Cedrick Fenelon, Heritage boys soccer
Fenelon scored five goals on Monday in an 8-1 win over Lincoln Park Academy. The Panthers improved to 3-1-1.
Brooke Reid, Titusville High girls soccer
Redi scored three goals in the Terriers’ 5-0 win over Eau Gallie on Monday. Titusville is 5-3-0 on the season.
Lapresha Stanley, Rockledge girls basketball
Stanley scored 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds on Monday in a 68-43 defeat of Cocoa Beach. She added 18 points on Tuesday in a win over Merritt Island.
Tre Smith, Merritt Island Christian boys basketball
Smith scored 29 points, including 9-of-10 from the free throw line and 4 3-pointers in a 55-29 victory over Life Christian on Monday. On Tuesday, Smith had 17 points, with three more 3-pointers, in a 68-63 OT loss to West Shore.
