BOYS BASKETBALL

Detroit Cass Tech 63, Detroit Consortium 53: Randy Gilbert had 15 points and 10 boards in the win for Cass Tech. Additionally, Michael Green had 12 points and 14 rebounds while Rodman Allen finished with 14 points.

Detroit Cody 67, Henry Ford Academy 61: Jaleend Brown led with 23 points for Cody (4-16). Charles Barnett added nine points.

Detroit University Prep 65, Detroit Jalen Rose  48: Colyn Waldron had 15 points and five steals while Tavis Smith had 11 points and Shawn Pittman Jr. recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the victory for University Prep (17-2, 10-1 Charter).

Warren Michigan Collegiate 85, Detroit Cristo Rey 60: Jamell Green led with 16 points for Collegiate (10-9) while Jamar Green added 12 points. Richard Catchert scored 16 points for Christorey (10-7).

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Wednesday, March 2 girls basketball district scores

Allen Park 63, Dearborn Fordson 44: Izzy Slate had 17 points, Audrey Newstead had 14 points while Erin Fish recorded 14 points and Aly Kubik scored 10 points in the victory for Allen Park (18-3, 13-1 Downriver). In the loss for Fordson, Rana Elhusseini had 17 points, Rana Elfamadoury had 10 points and Sarah Abdulluh finished with 10 points.

Athens 68, Marcellus 34: Jillayne Wheeler led with 18 points for Athens (15-7) while Rachel Beal added 13 points.  Marcellus ends the season 8-13.

Brighton 44, South Lyon 23: Beth Dziekan scored 13 points for Brighton (14-7) while Julianna Piepila contributed 11 points. South Lyone finishes the season with a 2-18 record.

Dearborn 54, Dearborn Edsel Ford 28: Isabelle Clark had 15 points and Linda Kobeissi finished with 11 points in the win for Dearborn.

Dearborn Heights Robichaud 55, Dearborn Heights Annapolis 17: Kayla Brown and Kamaria McDaniel each had 21 points for Robichaud (15-6).

Detroit Consortium 42, Detroit Cesar Chavez 8: Maya Gray had 10 points and Amber Rainey finished with 11 points in the win for Consortium (14-4).

Detroit Denby 44, Harper Woods 25: Jamilia Gortman led with 12 points for Denby.

Detroit Henry Ford 69, CMA 8: Tiara Thomas scored 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight steals for Henry Ford (17-4) in the class b blowout matchup. Sharlyn Giles added 15 points and 15 rebounds. CMA finishes 3-7.

Detroit Mumford 67, Hazel Park 22: Tiara Ernest scored 16 points for Mumford (14-5) while Shardaye Yharbourgh added 11 points.

Ferndale 51, Detroit Central Collegiate Prep 21: Kayla Boyd scored 15 points for Ferndale (4-18). Cierra Pickett added 10 points.

Flat Rock 68, Summit Academy 16: Hannah Myre scored 21 points for Flat Rock (17-5). Morgan Villemure scored 21 points and nine assist. Alexis Hires added 13 points and a team record 11 steals. Summit Academy finishes the season 6-10.

Gross Pointe South 73, Detroit Cass Tech 42: Anna Carmody led with 18 points for Gross Pointe South 9-13). Sayanna Roy scored 12 points. Zoe Otis led with 14 points for Cass Tech (7-8).

Howell 52, South Lyon East 39: Leah Westlock led with 15 points for Howell (19-2). Erin Honkala added 13 points. South Lyone East ends the year 7-13.

Madison Heights 50, Detroit Cornerstone 29: Alexis Peck had 15 points, Kelsey Williams had 12 points, Michelle Baughn had nine and Alyssa Phillips had six in the victory for Madison Heights (17-5).

University Liggett 48, Detroit Edison 42 (0T): In this class C second round matchup, Nia Ahart led with a monster game for Ligette (21-4)  with 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assist. Kendall McCownico scored 22 points and 11 rebounds. Richea Jackson scored 19 points for Edison. Second round.

Utica 60, Rochester Adams 49: Cierra VonZittwitz had 18 points and Natalie Suchoski finished with 18 points in the win for Utica (16-5, 11-1 MAC White).
