In June 2009, Ajanae’ Thomas’ father murdered her mother Nicole Thomas inside their Detroit home. Grandmother Debra Hawkins adopted Ajanae’ and her brother Paul Lee. Ajanae’ has earned a basketball scholarship. Her mother is her motivation.
