HARRISONBURG — Patrick Smith shot an 81 and John Garvey and 82 to lead Wilson Memorial’s golf team to a second-place finish in a Shenandoah District golf mini Friday at Heritage Oaks Golf Course.
The Green Hornets finished with an aggregate of 350 behind winner East Rockingham (307) and ahead of third-place Stonewall Jackson (366). Stuarts Draft (379) was fourth, followed by Page County (387), Luray (398) and Riverheads (471).
Jacob Sears (93) and Noah Hughes (94) rounded out Wilson’s scoring.
The Cougars were led by Eric Custard’s 91 and Ryan Thompson’s 92. Braeden Tutwiler carded a 97 and Trent Ellis a 99.
Evan Groah was low man for the Gladiators with a 105, while Kyle Horne went around in 108. Isaac Sanger and Chase Landes both finished with a 129.
Buffalo Gap was not involved un the team competition, but did have three individuals in the mix. Sydney Digman led the Bison with a 130, Brock Moore had a 134 and Shelby Digman a 138.
