The Battle Creek Enquirer put out the question:
Who was the Football Player of the Week of Week 5 of the high school season?
After more than 19,000 votes in the Enquirer website poll, the answer is Bellevue’s Dawson Morgan.
Morgan finished first in the poll with 8,909 votes.
Finishing a close second was Harper Creek’s Gabe Rhodes with 6,389 votes.
Nathan Vickery of Climax-Scotts was third.
Dawson Morgan helped Bellevue beat North Adams-Jerome with a 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, a 65-yard punt return for a score and three interceptions on defense.
The winner of the Battle Creek Enquirer Football Player of the Week each week will receive a ‘Player of the Week’ t-shirt.

Each week throughout the fall, the Enquirer will also accept nominations for Athlete of the Week. The criteria for the honor is that it must be a Battle Creek area high school varsity athlete who participates in volleyball, swimming and diving, tennis, soccer, golf or cross country.
