The Battle Creek Enquirer put out the question:
Who was the Football Player of the Week of Week 9 of the high school season?
After nearly 33,000 votes in the Enquirer website poll, the answer is Battle Creek Central’s Jahmiel Wade.
Wade finished first in the poll with 16,916 votes.
Finishing second was Lakeview’s Jay’vion Settles with 14,689 votes.
Pennfield’s Kollin Kemerling was third.
BCC quarterback Jahmiel Wade finished with 176 passing yards and five touchdown passes in Bearcats’ 47-6 win over Loy Norrix. Wade, who was originally credited with four touchdown passes has now been given five touchdown passes. A bubble screen that was originally called a run on Friday has been changed to a pass, giving Wade five for the game and the school record.
The winner of the Battle Creek Enquirer Football Player of the Week each week will receive a ‘Player of the Week’ t-shirt.
