Randy Earl (106 pounds) of the John Jay High School wrestling team and Brady Robin (145) of Arlington advanced to the quarterfinals of the Eastern States Classic at SUNY Sullivan on Saturday, winning matches on Friday.

Earl beat Tito Colom of Saint Francis 10-5 to move on while Robin won a 7-2 decision over Charlie Spada of Long Beach.

The Admirals’ Tanner Nielsen lost to Judens Claude of Wingate 5-2 in the round of 16.

Nielsen, Tyler Albis (106, John Jay), Paul Bernasconi (138, John Jay), Travis Coon (285,Red Hook), Kyle Davis (160, Beacon), Malachi Maloney (152, Beacon), Dennis Robin (99, Arlington) and Isaac Mathews (152, Roy C. Ketcham) each won consolation matches.
