USA TODAY High School Sports is proud to announce the 2017 American Family Insurance ALL-USA Nevada Football Team. Players were selected based on their athletic achievements from the 2017-18 season.

COACH OF THE YEAR: Kenny Sanchez, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)

Sanchez led the Gaels to a staggering ninth consecutive state title. After incurring two early losses to out-of-state powers, Gorman did what it does under Sanchez’s leadership, capping a 13-2 season with a 48-7 romp over Reed in the state final.

OFFENSE

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Cade McNamara, Damonte Ranch (Reno)

The junior quarterback passed for 3,470 yards and 44 touchdowns this past season, leading the Mustangs (11-1) to the Division I Northern Region semifinals. A Notre Dame commit, McNamara had at least two TD passes in all 12 games and passed for four or more scores seven times.

DEFENSE

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Palaie Gaoteote, Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas)

The senior linebacker and one-time transfer from Mililani (Hawaii) saved his best for last in helping lead the Gaels to a ninth straight state title. A longtime USC commit, Gaoteote made 80 tackles (41 solo) with 20 tackles for loss, 12 quarterback hurries and three sacks.
