Make that 10 for Notre Dame.
Ten 2018 verbal commitments, that is. That’s almost half the number of recruits it signed in the 2017 class (21) and the most the Fighting Irish have ever had this early on.
Friday afternoon, the Irish received their fourth commit of the week in four-star wide receiver Micah Jones of Warren Township (Ill.). He made his announcement at school, picking Notre Dame over Michigan State, Nebraska, Iowa, Ole Miss, Illinois and Northwestern.
The 6-1, 195-pound wideout was originally not planning to make any decisions until taking all of his visits through April, but after coming to Notre Dame’s Junior Day last weekend, he decided to go ahead and commit.
This is the fourth commitment for Notre Dame’s new coaching staff in the last five days, and the tenth in the past 22 days, which includes six signees from the 2017 class. 247 Sports currently ranks Notre Dame with the second-best 2018 recruiting class.
