Florida State has signed five-star St. John Bosco (Bellflower, Calif.) safety Jaiden Woodbey.
Woodbey had been committed to Ohio State since February, but USC was in position to land him until FSU came in at the last moment.
He picked up an offer from FSU on Dec. 12, just eight days before the early signing period, and took an official visit to FSU on the final day before the dead period began. He left his official visit at USC early to take the FSU visit.
He is the first five-star to sign with FSU under new coach Willie Taggart.
Woodbey finished his senior season with 57 tackles and two interceptions. He returned both for touchdowns.
He is ranked as the No. 2 safety and the No. 27 player overall in the 247Sports composite rankings.
He will enroll early following the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Jan. 6.
