Cole Bajema commits to Michigan basketball

John Beilein’s 2019 recruiting class has added another piece.

2019 small forward Cole Bajema, from Lynden (Wash.) Christian School, announced his commitment to Beilein and Michigan on Saturday.

“I am excited and blessed to announce that I will further my education and basketball career by accepting a scholarship offer to attend the University of Michigan,” Bajema wrote on Twitter. “I would like to thank God, my parents, and my coaches for their help in allowing me to realize my dream of attending the greatest university in the world.”

Bajema is not currently ranked by 247sports composite, but the 6-foot-7 wing caught Michigan’s attention with a highlight tape and a strong showing at its elite camp over the summer.

The Wolverines now have two pledges for their 2019 class, as Bajema joins 4-star wing Jalen Wilson.

After Michigan’s initial interest in Bajema, a host of teams followed. Washington, Xavier, Oregon State and Virginia offered and a host of other schools showed interest during the recent Las Vegas Classic.
