Preseason Rank: 15
2017-18 record: 36-1
Final 2017-18 Super 25 ranking: 2

Riverdale High School returns three-star senior Aislynn Hayes and four-star 2020 Alasia Hayes, her sister, who are situated to take a step forward from productive seasons.

But outside the the two older Hayes – more on that in a moment – this year is going to look a lot different than the 2018 Riverdale team that simply dominated last season.

At the forefront is a new coach. Amy Josephson will take the reins at Riverdale. It won’t be because of the coaching change if the whole system is rearranged, though; Riverdale lost perhaps its three best players.

Five-star Brinae Alexander now plays at Vanderbilt. Riverdale also graduated three-star twins Alexis and Amanda Whittington, who now play at Middle Tennessee State University.

It will now be the Hayes show. A family affair.

Aislynn and Alasia’s sister, Acacia, is likely to step into a starting role, the Daily New-Journal reported. She’ll try to follow suit of her sisters, who posted solid marks last year. (Aislynn: 13.3 points, 4.2 assist and 2.6 steals per game; Alasia: 12.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists).

How they try to replicate the success of last season will be interesting to see.
