As college football teams celebrate the recruits officially joining their rosters on National Signing Day, Oklahoma and Lincoln Riley took a unique and awesome approach to introducing the Sooners’ fan base to the newcomers, who make up the nation’s No. 8 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.com.
With each recruit’s signing, the head coach has been sharing videos of their highlights, but it’s so much more than that. They start with different people — like DJs, people at a party and music fans shopping — scrolling through a stack of vinyl records, seemingly looking for the perfect one, the one with Oklahoma’s logo and #NewWave19 written on it.
And when they find it, the record is played with the background music shifting from soothing tones to an electronic hype style, and the player’s highlights take over. It’s a creative and original way to celebrate the soon-to-be Sooners, like mini music videos that feature clips of their signed players’ best moves.

The Sooners’ approach to a typically overblown signing process is just a cool and different take on a take a single day that is often overdramatic and all about the individuals. But these collective videos link them all together, helping fans get excited over the incoming recruiting class.
The biggest moment may have come when Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif.) safety Jeremiah Criddell flashed his own album cover in making his Sooners commitment.
