Why them: Without dual-threat quarterback Peter Parrish, who will take over the job? Both quarterbacks Tucker Melton and Trey Miles got to the championship of the 7-on-7 camp at Auburn with wide receivers E.J. Williams, a top-20 WR and third-best player in the state, and Peter Jakes. On the offensive line, Javion Cohen will be another key piece during the season that can help the team remain a headache for defense.

Over the last three years, the Red Devils have gone 35-3 under head coach Jamey DuBose. Last year, the team held 10 opponents to 10 points or fewer, scored more than 40 points 10 times, and took down Taulia Tagovailoa’s Thompson (Alabaster, Alabama) team in the championship game, sacking the quarterback four times, according to High School Football America.

A lot of that success came from Parrish, along with other graduates such as Clemson safety signee Ray Thornton and Arkansas running back signee A’Montae Spivey. Central will have its work cut out to replace those cogs. But with strong pieces who have proven they can connect this offseason, they look like they’re up to the task.
