Location: Marietta, Ga.
18-19 Record: 5-6
Final Super 25 Rank: Unranked
Why them: The Blue Devils will be strong on both sides of the ball with Harrison Bailey under center and B.J. Ojulari anchoring the defense. Ojulari led the team in tackles last season with 104 and Bailey, a Tennessee commit, completed 212 of 335 passes for 2,809 yards and 29 touchdowns last season.
Around Bailey on offense will be weapons in running back Kimani Vidal and tight end/receiver Arik Gilbert, ranked No. 16 in the Chosen 25. Gilbert and three-star wide receivers Ricky White and Kobe Stewart give Bailey plenty of options to throw to.
On defense, the addition of Rashad Torrence and Dawson Ellington in the secondary will be a big boost for the Blue Devils. They were ineligible last year due to transfer rules. With sacks leader Labarron Kennedy and three-star linebacker Kiersten Lee set to play for Marietta, there’s upside all around.
With five of the top 54 players in the state and double-digit three-star or better players, Marietta looks poised to not only jump above .500, but be one of the stronger teams in the nation.
