With his time in high school over and a wait until leaving for Australia and the National Basketball League, LaMelo Ball in killing his downtime with games in the Drew League and private runs.
In a scrimmage with current and former professionals, Ball showed out at Rico Hines on Friday. While the scoring was hardly seen, Ball’s passing was on point. At times, Ball looked to be deferring to teammates with nifty passes and picture-perfect dimes, passing his teammates open in many instances.
It was an interesting look at Ball against NBA-level talent, even if in an informal setting. It could be a confidence issue, an off shooting night or just the clips showed portraying a different story but it did not seem like Ball was focused on scoring. Considering many see his ability to score as his best attribute while many also saw his passing as a lesser skill relative to his older brother Lonzo.
The scrimmages included a host of familiar faces namely in current Clipper Montrezl Harrell, former Laker and current Piston Svi Mykhailiuk and former UCLA Bruin and current Pacer Ike Anigbogu. Former pros Royce White and Cuttino Mobley and future Duke Blue Devil Cassius Stanley.
